Comms Bestie Group Chat [Oct. 24, 2025]

Hey friends, |
Once youāve put down the popcorn after listening to The Katieās super spicy takes on if reputation matters in 2025, hereās whatās popping in the group chat. šæ |
š Last week's Reddit convo made it clear: we are not sure what to do on Reddit. ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ Thankfully, the Reddit head of EMEA comms Alana Saltzman shared this resource for brands to get started. Her words: You wouldn't show up to a party and just start shouting about yourself... so maybe don't do that on Reddit? (Plus it was good to see startup comms pro Lindsay Amos post her Substack in a YC subreddit and not get immediately shamed). |

𤯠AI Knowledge Bombs: The Groq (not Grok) CEO dropped so much net-new information in this 20VC podcast. You'll want to listen to the whole thing, but my favorite parts: his prediction AI will cause a labor shortage (not job loss), how learning to code will be the modern-day equivalent of learning to read/write back in the day, and his approach to AI: "We don't tell our engineers which AI to use, but they must use AI." |
š³ļø Virgin Voyages built 50 agents: They're automating time-consuming marketing tasks like landing pages and email customization. Comms pros: we're next. So it's time to get comfortable with building and running agents. |
āļø NYC Tech Press Panel: If you're in NYC on Nov. 6, grab a spot to the State of Biz & Tech Media panel. It's free, featuring reporters from TIME, CNBC, BI and Semafor, and there are only 15 spots left. S/O to Amanda Coffee for always putting together great IRL events. |
š„ Oh, and if you work for Weber, DM me: Between your CEO AI'ing himself, and Eleanorās reporting that youāre automating 75% of crisis work and inking a 7-fig deal with Google, I must hear how AI is impacting your daily work. |
